Who We Are

Our Experience

We are engineers, technicians, pilots, air traffic controllers and managers with decades of experience in an operational and technical environment.

We are also professionals - it is a requisite of the job.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote and support careers in the aviation industry.

We will endeavor to leverage our experience to serve  the communities in which we live, and to prepare individuals for productive and rewarding jobs, preserving the dignity of our vocation.

Our Industry

We are a small, and tight-knit family.  But because our numbers are dwindling it is important, now more than ever, that we engage and sustain the next generation of aviation enthusiasts.

We are proud to continue to make the reality of flight possible.

Our Support

We have the support of the various industry stakeholders.  Manufacturers, operators, flight safety services, maintainers, repair facilities - each plays a vital role.

We need the support of the traveling public - the individuals and companies that we serve.

We need you!

What We Do

Raising Awareness

The aviation industry has been forecasting a massive labour shortage for years due, in part, to a lack of awareness of the career paths available.

The Foundation helps to promote these opportunities by providing and supporting youth programs across Canada.

Enabling Effective Training

Through industry giving the Foundation is able to secure gift-in-kind training aids including aircraft, engines and related airframe components.

Securing these assets and using them to support training programs helps to ensure that  students have the hands-on experience that they need.

Funding Education

Through awards, including scholarships and bursaries, the Foundation is able to help meet the needs of students enrolled in various aviation programs.

Proceeds from a scrap metal recycling program is another way these awards are funded.  Reducing our carbon footprint becomes a final part of the training aid repurposing process.

How We Do It

Supporting Primary and Secondary School Students

From an introductory program for grade 6 students, to hands-on experiences, the Foundation offers a broad spectrum of programs.

Supporting Other Youth Organizations

Through industry giving the Foundation is able to secure gift-in-kind training aids and provide them to various organizations across the country.

Supporting these groups helps to ensure that everyone has access to useful aircraft and related components.

Supporting Students Enrolled In Post-secondary Aviation Programs

Through awards, including scholarships and bursaries, the Foundation is able to help meet the needs of students enrolled in various aviation programs.

Ways To Give

Annual Giving

Each year we are fortunate to receive gifts of all sizes from donors interested in supporting education and training programs.  These gifts provide the foundation with the flexibility to direct funds where needed most.

Campaign Gifts

Whether to support a training facility construction initiative or to fund an equipment acquisition, the Foundation raises funds through targeted, time-limited campaigns.

Planned Giving

Building a gift to The Hudson Aviation Foundation into your will or estate is a thoughtful gesture of support that will inspire future aviation professionals for generations to come.
